About Karaoke Venues NYC

Private karaoke in NYC is no longer just a dive bar staple — in 2026, the city's best venues have elevated the experience into something genuinely memorable, whether you're rallying a work team for a bonding night or throwing the kind of birthday party people actually talk about for months. From the futuristic glow of Nebula's private karaoke rooms in Midtown, tucked inside a 10,000 square foot nightclub with 1,700 LED panels and 30-foot ceilings, to the cozy, design-forward intimacy of The Love Shack in Bushwick, where life-size dollhouses set a surreal and unforgettable stage, this collection covers every energy level and group size NYC has to offer. Capacity ranges from around 20 guests in a dedicated karaoke room to full venue buyouts for 300 or more, so whether you're planning a tight-knit crew night or a full-on celebration, there's a room that fits. The venues here span the city's best neighborhoods for a night out — Midtown's convenience shines at spots like Fushimi Times Square and Aura 57 on West 57th Street, both offering upscale atmospheres where Japanese elegance and lounge sophistication meet a karaoke setup. Meanwhile, Lot 15 inside the Kixby Hotel delivers a speakeasy-style cocktail bar vibe for smaller groups who want craft drinks alongside their song selections. Each space brings something different to the table: some lead with high-end food and beverage programs, others with immersive lighting and sound, and a few with that rare combination of quirky personality and real privacy that makes a karaoke night feel like a genuine NYC experience rather than a generic party package. What unites all six venues is the private room format — no strangers judging your high notes, no competition for the mic, just your group and the songs you've been waiting to belt out. That privacy changes the dynamic entirely, lowering the stakes and raising the fun, which is exactly why private karaoke has become one of the most requested formats for birthdays, corporate events, and celebrations of every kind across all five boroughs.

Expert Tip

For corporate team events or milestone birthdays where you want production value to match the energy, book Nebula's dedicated Karaoke Room, which holds up to 20 guests privately inside one of Midtown's most technically impressive nightclubs — your group gets the intimacy of a private room with the option to spill out into a world-class nightclub setting afterward. If your group is smaller and the vibe is more cocktail-forward and intimate, Lot 15 inside the Kixby Hotel is a smart Midtown pick with a semi-private bar section and a fully private classic room for up to 80 guests, ideal for keeping the night relaxed and the drinks excellent.

Venue Selection Guide

Your 2026 Guide to Booking Private Karaoke Venues in NYC

Choosing the Right Space for Your Group

The first thing to nail down is your headcount, because karaoke rooms in NYC vary wildly in size. Nebula in Midtown offers private karaoke rooms that hold up to 20 guests, making them ideal for a tight-knit birthday crew or a corporate team outing that wants to keep things exclusive. Grace and Ruby's in Williamsburg can hold up to 60 guests for a full venue rental and has already proven itself as a go-to for karaoke nights, so it's a great pick if your group is bigger and wants a full Brooklyn bar experience. For something in between, Lot 15 inside the Kixby Hotel offers a private Classic Room for up to 80 guests with a speakeasy cocktail lounge vibe that makes the singing feel like a special secret.

Matching the Venue Vibe to Your Occasion

Not every karaoke night has the same energy, and NYC's venues reflect that beautifully. If you want over-the-top production value, Nebula's 1,700 LED screen panels and world-class sound system will make every performance feel like a stadium concert, perfect for a product launch after-party or a milestone birthday. Fushimi Times Square brings a sophisticated Japanese lounge aesthetic to the mix, blending elevated sushi and craft cocktails with karaoke, which works brilliantly for client dinners that need a fun twist. The Love Shack in Bushwick is a completely different animal, a design showroom built inside two life-size dollhouses, offering a quirky, intimate karaoke experience for groups of up to 50 who want something truly unforgettable and conversation-worthy.

Understanding Minimums and Budgeting Realistically

Karaoke venues in NYC operate on minimum spend models, and the range here is wide, so knowing your budget upfront saves a lot of back-and-forth. Grace and Ruby's has the lowest minimum spend at $75, making it the most accessible option for casual birthday hangs or small group outings in Brooklyn. On the other end, Fushimi Times Square carries a $1,750 minimum, which reflects its upscale Japanese dining and lounge experience in the heart of Midtown. Nebula and Aura 57 both start at $100, while The Love Shack starts at $200, so there are solid mid-range options whether you are planning in Manhattan or Brooklyn.

Neighborhood Tips for Getting There and Setting the Night

Location matters a lot in NYC, especially when your group is coming from different boroughs. Nebula sits at 135 West 41st Street between Times Square and Bryant Park, putting it at one of the most transit-accessible spots in the city with multiple subway lines steps away. Aura 57 on West 57th Street is close to Columbus Circle and a short walk from the A, B, C, D, and 1 trains, making it convenient for guests coming from the Upper West Side or Midtown. If your group is Brooklyn-based or wants a night that starts and ends in one of NYC's coolest creative neighborhoods, Grace and Ruby's in Williamsburg or The Love Shack in Bushwick are both easy wins with a distinctly local, non-touristy feel.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

Before you lock in any karaoke venue, get clear on a few key details that can make or break the night. Ask whether the karaoke setup is built into the room or brought in as a separate setup, and confirm whether microphones, speakers, and song libraries are included, venues like Grace and Ruby's explicitly offer microphones and a full PA system, which is great peace of mind. Find out if you can bring in a playlist or if there are genre restrictions, especially at more nightclub-forward venues like Nebula or Aura 57 where the room energy leans toward a DJ-driven vibe. Also ask about food and beverage packages since several venues including Fushimi Times Square and Nebula offer full catering and custom beverage programs that can simplify your planning significantly.

Insider Tips for Making It a Night to Remember

Book early in 2026, especially for Friday and Saturday nights, because private karaoke rooms in Midtown fill up fast around the holidays and major celebration seasons. If your group loves a theme, The Love Shack's dollhouse aesthetic is practically begging for a campy, maximalist dress code that will supercharge your karaoke energy. For corporate teams looking to bond without it feeling forced, Nebula's mix of private karaoke rooms and full-venue options lets you start the night with a company event on the main floor and then break into smaller singing sessions for a natural, fun wind-down. And if you want the most flexible setup for a mixed crowd, Grace and Ruby's removable stage and rearrangeable seating mean you can go from seated dinner to full karaoke party mode without skipping a beat.

Such a hidden gem in terms of food quality. One of the best sashimi platters I have had around the area, plus the rib-eye steak was absolutely delicious. Very cute and cozy, definitely ah amazing spot for a night out.

This venue is such a hidden gem! It is as stunning in person as it is in pictures! Brittany the owner answered all my questions and I had plenty! All of my guests could not stop talking about how gorgeous the place was! Thank you so much for making my 40th beetlejuice event amazing!

We came to this new club after finding it on Google Maps while we were in the area. Since it was our first time, we decided to try the bar instead of booking a table to get a feel for the atmosphere. The place is fun, and we really enjoyed the music. We’ll probably be back with friends and might book a table next time! P.S. A big thank you to the lovely lady at the door for taking a moment to tell us more about the spot, even though she was standing outside in the cold. Stay warm!

Nebula Nightclub in Manhattan is a cool spot with great vibes and music. Overall, it’s a fun place to hang out and enjoy the nightlife scene.
